Puppy Foundation courses run for 9 weeks and are held at 7pm on Tuesdays.
Puppies can attend once they have had their second vaccination and are allowed to mix with other dogs.
The Course provides the opportunity to socialise your puppy and lays down a foundation for education and training.
You will learn how to teach your puppy the basic commands of sit, stand, down and stay and teach a recall in a safe environment. You will also learn the basics of walking on a lead and the benefits of playing with your dog.
Places on these courses are always in high demand and you should contact us as soon as you know you are getting a puppy.
For more information on the content of the course please see the Kennel Club leaflet below.
Adult Classes (dogs over 12 months old)
Improver courses run for 9 weeks and are held at 8pm and 8:45pm on Tuesdays.
Dogs are invited to join one of these classes when they have completed the Puppy Foundation course.
These classes build on the skills learnt in the Foundation classes; introducing longer stays, more controlled lead walking, calling your dog away from distractions and ultimately being able to send your dog away to a bed, and stop them in their tracks when they are in full flight.
If you want to work towards the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme awards the classes teach the skills required to attain the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. We hold a number of Test days during the year when an external examiner will come and test those dogs our trainers think are ready to be assessed.
You can find more information on each of these awards below
